JUly 26 - Supposed to have a lot of cloud cover today which may suppress butterfly activity some. Temperatures will still be good so there should be plenty of activity, you may just have to look a little harder. The blazing star (purple corn dogs) is still the nectar of choice it would seem.
The current weather forecast for Saturday night is outstanding for a change! Hope you can join us for mothing. The program starts at 9PM. Gift Shop will open to sell tickets at 8:30. Also, take advantage of our 2-for-1 program. Come during the day to enjoy our butterflies, hold on to your wristbands, and get free admission for mothing that night!
This year we will be featuring Spring/Fall Hours and Summer Hours. April/May/Sept/Oct our open hours will be 11-6, with last admission onto the trail at 5PM. June-Aug our open hours will be 10-5, with last trail admission at 4PM.
We will also have daily, guided butterfly walks at 1PM, no reservations required. We hope to see you at Butterfly Ridge in 2026! Admission is $6 per person and dogs are welcome, as long as they stay on their leash.
Butterfly Ridge at Pawpaw Festival
The Pollinator Tent is Back!!! - The Pollinator Tent at Pawpaw Festival has been reinstated. Whoop whoop! We will have a full schedule of speakers on Saturday and some great vendors including Butterfly Ridge/Polygonia Foundation, Natives in Harmony nursery, and Nora Steele Art. We will also be setting up the mothing sheets Saturday night. Don’t forget, this year Pawpaw is at Snow Fork Event Center just outside of Nelsonville.
Butterflynding - This time of year can be tough for our visitors to see our butterflies because many are small and masters of disguise. Follow this link for some helpful clues to see more butterflies.
